Ollie Millroy has been ranked 5th in the Top 10 ‘Pro’ drivers from the 2012 Blancpain Endurance series, marking a significant achievement in his debut GT racing season competing in what is arguably the toughest and most competitive GT Championship in the World.
The list, put together by series commentator David Addison, ranks the top 10 ‘Pro’ drivers based on driver performances throughout the season and this year also included several other hugely experienced GT racers such as Matt Griffin (2), Sean Edwards (3) and Richard Westbrook (7).
David Addison wrote: “Hmm, I can hear the shouts of objection already, but look at what Millroy did: first year of GT racing on new circuits and in a team that did a fine job with a limited budget. Like (Duncan) Tappy, a GT future beckons and he did a great job of dragging Ecurie Ecosse’s McBMW into places it shouldn’t have been. He will keep getting better and better.”
Ollie Millroy: “2012 was a fantastic year for me and this was a perfect way to round it off. It was tough racing in a 2011-spec car and it’s a great feeling to know that my performance behind the wheel was still recognised. The support I received from Ecurie Ecosse, Barwell Motorsport, BMW Motorsport and my partners was amazing. I’m now focusing on training hard and putting together my 2013 plans with a view to further developing my career at the top level of GT racing.”
